President's Message

Dear Supervisor:
Let me take this opportunity to welcome y'all to a great 2008! I want to thank Vice President Dwayne Parker (Buena Vista Charter Township, Saginaw Co.) for presiding over our January meeting during the MTA conference. I apologize for not being there, however, I just could not bring myself to leave the Florida sunshine for a snow bound Michigan conference!!
I understand the keynote address by Political Correspondent Tim Skubick was stimulating.
We have a good reason to be excited this year! Over one half of our 2008 membership is made up of brand new members, and the enrollment numbers are still climbing! Thank you to our Executive Director Judi Lintott, and the current Executive Board and Board of Directors. "GREAT JOB!"!
MATS continues to expand our efforts in working with MTA. Currently, (SB's 1078--1083) are hot topics! Michigan's antiquated annexation and detachment laws need to be changed! Please continue to show MATS' support of MTA by contacting your Senators and urging them to vote in favor of these bills!
Please feel free to contact me or any member of the MATS Board of Directors or Executive Director Judi Lintott at 734-572-8776 or .
Remember, as we continue the growth of our organization, we can make a difference!!
See you at the Spring Education Conference April 11 in Mt. Pleasant. If you're running for re-election, be sure to sign up for the pre-conference workshop April 10 as well!
Sincerely,
Scott Streeter
MATS 2007 President
