MATS completes 501(c)3 incorporation
MATS has completed its incorporation as
a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Some of the benefits to our association and its membership are:
  • the ability to accept contributions and donations
that are tax-deductible to the donor. Specifically,
this will allow us to seek grant funding to under-
write or offset the cost of education programs, and perhaps to establish a scholarship fund for Supervisors to attend conferences or advanced education programs.
  • exemption from federal and/or state corporate income taxes. Saving six percent on purchases may not sound like much, but those pennies add up in a hurry!
  • increased liability protection for officers.
  • discounts on US Postal bulk-mail rates and other services.
  • 2011 Fall Education Conference - October 19-21, Kalamazoo Radisson
putting on absolutely the best education available specifically for township supervisors, and I promise you, this conference won't let you down. This will be a great opportunity for supervisors to share our knowledge and support each other as mentors. Just take a look at some of the sessions we'll hear:
